Restoring Limestone or Resin fire surround?

We've been renovating, and we're coming to do our lounge. We have a fire surround, however we haven't got a clue if its resin or limestone - not sure how to find out.

The fire surround has multiple stains on it, from Coffee, Tea, Coke etc. Does anyone know how to refurbish the fire surround to bring it back to its original form?
