restrictor elbow on gas fire

Hi guys, new to the trade and have come across a customer who does not eant a restrictor elbow fitted at the inlet, thinks it would not be pretty!!!! is it ok to fit an isolator away from the fire, on 15mm pipe, with easy acces ?
reading regulation 26(6) does not make it clearer.
