I need to build a retaining wall at the foot of my garden. It will need to be about 15 metres long and 1 metre high. What size of blocks should I be using and how much would I expect to pay for them ?

I have looked at some builders merchants sites but there is such a variety of blocks out there I am a little lost !

I also intend removing my rear lawn and replacing it with hardcore for storage of my caravan, trailer and occaisional car parking. i am looking at 150 sq metres. How deep should I lay it and what qty of aggregate will I need for this size of area ?

Any advice greatly appreciated

Yep thanks very much, all you ever wanted to know. I did initially wonder about the site name, but the content is wide ranging.

Thanks again
