hi all maybe a silly question but i,m in the process of repointing my ridge tiles so far it seems easy enough, my problem is how do i get safe access to the hips is there a special roof ladder that is designed for this or will i have to go to the exspense of putting up scaffolding, im using a cat ladder at the moment to reach the ridge which has work great thanks to all that reply in advance

i personally don't agree with re-pointing roof products, as it just isn't thorough enough.
your roof is subjected to the worst of the weather and re- pointing is only going to make it look nice for a short time.
but i sympathise with your hip access dilemma. very difficult to access off a ladder. a scaffold platform up to the eaves is maybe the safest way.
