ridge purlin/beam

Good afternoon,
I need a ridge purlin/beam capable of spanning 6.5m. I am considering using a flitch beam for ease of fitting as I understand they are lighter and was hoping somebody could tell me what size this would need to be or which other options are available.

Its still a beam, and it needs designing and presumably the calculations given to the BCO for checking.

The old guy who used to do the charity work is away at the moment - he should be back around the 14th October after he finishes his structural design training.

Otherwise you will have to pay for this
