roof flashing material

Hi all.
I have just finished tiling my DIY rear extension with marley melbourn slates.
Next job is to flash it into the existing house wall.
I am not sure whats best to use as lead is tradionally the material to use but its well expensive....
Question is to you pro's....is there some other modern material thats as good and environmentally friendly and damned cheaper.
I need about 8mtrs x 350mm.

TBH, you'd probably just as well using lead, it may be expensive but the alternatives aren't much cheaper, the only real reason for using the alternative would be if it's likely to go walkies in the night. (if it's a side abutment I hope you have put in the secret gutter....

If it`s a secret gutter - it won`t get nicked
