Roof questions

Be jeezus that's awful. I'd hate to think what the rest of the build is like, or even the things you can't see.

Remember that once the builder has been paid and is off site, it's very very difficult to get things rectified. And that roof should be damp and problem free for decades - and it looks like it will only be months.

yes, you are absolutely right. Here I just showed the front roof. We also did side and rear extension where roof has same problems (leading flashing is wrong; batten gauge is wrong). Nightmare to us now.

the problem with doing repairs after someone else's poor work is that you dont know whats been messed up out of sight. even deliberately hidden.
literally, you dont know what your getting into.
another problem is when do you stop - given it will be a day rate, do you just keep going until the customer's funds are exhausted?

presuming that you've been in the loft, have any leaks appeared since the work?
if not then you could do the wait and see policy?

Much appreciate your advice. I totally understand those mighty hidden problems...

It's a roofer you need. They are reluctant to patch things because they know its likely to bite them.
Last thing they want is the client chasing when it leaks in the near future.
It's leaking now but luckily the underlay is obviously picking it up.

Got leaking just now after a short heavy rain. It looks the leaking is from the top of the parapet wall where tiles are loose.:cry::cry: Really hate the cowboy builder we had.
