I planted a rose bush around the beginning of Spring this year. When I planted it, the bud had developed but it was merely a wooden stump approximately 5 inches from the ground. I thought it would take years to flower however to my surprise, it flowered last week with one single flower.

What is the best way to maintain this young flower bush so as to maximise flowering? Should I leave it for now or do I need to take any action? I can provide a pic if need be :)
