Rotovator

Hi

Our garden is 4m wide x 7m long with a shed at the end of that patch.
I have cleared the old turf and stuff that was on the patch.
Currently it is just compacted earth with a few sprouts of grass here and there.
I need to prep it for turfing.

Was going to hire a rotovator but they all look quite hard core on the hire websites.
Is it a cultivator that I need?

Looking for what tool I need for what isn't a huge job.
Also what are the best hire places?

A couple of garden forks, a crate of beer and some mates will be far more satisfying.
