Rover 25 temp sensor.

Hi,

I own a Rover 25 1.6 is, The temperature sensor/gauge doesnt work, how do i fix this? also linked to this the hot air blower in the car blows warm but not hot air like my old 25 did.

Can someone help me with how to sort this out, I still have my old 25 in the garage as it has been written of but they havent been to collect it? will they ever collect it or should i just bang it on e-bay. So I can get any parts required from that car.

it sounds as though the two could be linked if the engine was over cooling,does the temp gauge move at all?

Nope the needle doesnt move at all, the coolent is constantly circulating, even on start up (ie it returns into cooling tank through the small pipe even when the car is running cold.

It generally just runs cold, Im presuming that either the thermostat has been removed or is siezed open? so Im going to replace and see what happens, would there be a reason why anyone would want to remove the thermostat? i.e to cover a problem?
