I don't like conservatories.. never have never will. The house we bought 10 years ago has one and I must have spent all of 10 minutes in it.
I would like to remove it and have a single story extension in its place onto the kitchen - like a family room setup.
Problem is the foundations are only about 15cm deep at the edge. I have been told my my brother in law (who works for redrow) that building regs would most likely insist the foundations are dug out and made to the same depth as the house.
Any other more cost effective options?
someone did mention piles but I don't know how much they are or if anything else would work.
The base is about 3x4m
