We're building a single storey 6.5m x 6.5m summerhouse with a slated roof and have to span 3.9m twice. One side has has to support a gable consisiting of approx. 60, 100mm blocks and the other just has to pick up the rafters. We can get our hands on two 152x152x37 steels and wondered if they would be big enough.
Also would they have to sit on precast padstones or would the 9 inch block piers suffice.
