running a boiler when drained

I bet the boilers fine, seen many greenstars run dry and survive.

I'm going to guess the boiler still had enough water to circulate round the HW circuit just no pressure.

got a greenstar 30si had to drain heating to change a rad while decorating
the rad is still off wall and heating empty
had hot water for over a week and this has now stopped no fault lights boiler just sounds like air in pump any ideas welcome

It is possible that the boiler is at the lowest point and the op drain down using a drain off valve next to radiator that been removed in other room where pipe drop down from ceiling leaving some in boiler.

But the boiler should not run if there is low pressure if it has the pressure sensor.

Op, did you turned off the radiator valves before you removed the radiator?
