The letting agent has asked for and 'Electrical Safety' certificate. As there is no legal requirement to provide certificates for electrical safety what is he asking for?
I assume as there is no legal requirement there is no standard format either?

Cheers

The only thing I can think they are after is a periodic inspection report.

PAT (portable appliance test) very basic

I would have thought PIR too.

We do hundreds of these on rented properties.

test to ensure that your installation meets current standards, i.e. main earth up to size, cross bonding carried out, correct luminaires installed in bathrroms, rcd protection to circuits that require it, insulation ok, earth fault loop resistance low enough to disconnect circuit etc.
if it is your property call in an electrician to carry out a periodic, our local authority requires landlords to carry this out every 5 year for letting properties.

check out exactly what the letting agencies wan't but i'd think unless otherwise specified you'd wan't to do both a PIR and PAT on any appliances included in the rental (i wouldn't imagine this would be a huge number in most rental properties)
