SAFETY CHAIN ON A UPVC DOOR>

HI,
Does anyone know how I can fix a safety chain onto a UPVC door.
I believe these doors are hollow,so do I use ordinary screws or do I need to use a type of self-tapping screw.

The chain will only be as strong as the weakest link, a couple of screws through a few mm on UPVC would be just that. I would consider securing to expanding plugs, there are many specificaly designed for fixings to doors

why not put a small bolt all the way through with a large washer on it? (but mark its position with the door shut)
