Salus RT500rf wiring.

Hi all, hope someone can help.
I've just tried to fit a Salus rt500rf to a Worcester 28i boiler. It is switching on but not firing unless I turn a tap on for a few seconds, when I turn the tap off the heating works fine. Any ideas please?

can you tell us what 28i it is, greenstar? older junior/ rsf.
 
If it was ok before then its got to be the wiring or a faulty salus. Tried using this make before but had no end of trouble with them. Just make sure the remote is switching the receiver on/ off . You only need three wires to the receiver box from the boiler, Ls on boiler to live on receiver, link between live and common on receiver. Call for heat wired back to Lr on boiler. And of course neutral from boiler to receiver box. Sure it's Ls and Lr marked on boiler but check instructions. Did you remove the manufacturers link between Ls and Lr? Does the remote and receiver have jumpers or switches that have to be set to the same?

I've got RN RI and RL connections on boiler. connected com on stat to RL and NO on stat RI.
should there be a connection to the original time clock ?
 
It's an older 28 I,
RL goes to live on salus,
Link live to common on salus.
No on salus back to RI on boiler
RN to neutral on salus.
I don't think you have salus controller powered up.

Edited to say, leave existing timer on boiler on constant or disconnect it. The No might also be marked 'SL ON' at the salus.

Thanks, should have said got live and neutral as well. It looks as though it's wired right then. is it right that the fan and pump run constantly ? other than
that it seems to work OK now.

When you say existing clock is that on the boiler or external?
If fan and pump on is the boiler firing gas?

No not the same then.

A combi should have a timer for the heating, you don't need both.

Didn't change anything and the fan/pump now turn off when room reaches temp. :rolleyes:

So what terminal have you connected RL too.

It needs to go in COM to prevent an overload on the link wire.

Yes RL to com. No idea why it suddenly decided to work.
