Hello I've heard of this program called Sandboxie which creates a virtual environment in your PC and you cannot get any viruses on your main machine. Does anybody use this and is it any good?
This is a very highly respected piece of security software. It's cheap at 26 euros for a lifetime license with upgrades and does exactly what you'd expect. It's used by a large number of security professionals. The best place to ask questions about this is probably Wilders Security Forums:
I've been using it for a few years now as primary protection. I wouldn't like to browse without it. I trust it enough to click on any link without worry and with no restrictions on scripts but it takes a time to gain that sort of confidence. I can understand why others might not be so trusting. No security product will give 100% safety but Sandboxie must near it in my opinion. Other security software is in place just in case it fails but it hasn't so far. Scans with SUPERAntiSpyware, MalwareBytes Anti-Malware and Norton 2010 never find anything.
Some programs can be run inside a sandbox when trialling them. Delete the sandbox to completely remove them and be sure there are no leftovers. The program under trial can be installed on the system proper once you're sure it's for keeping. Saved e-mail attachments can be opened sandboxed. Takes the worry out of that.
Sandboxie works with 32 bit operating systems but 64 bit isn't supported. Read here what Sandboxie's developer says about 64 bit:
