Sanding on top of Downlight

Just had firehood downlights put in. There are gaps in the floorboards above. We are having them sanded - are all the chippings and sawdust going to get on top/into the lights - is this a fire risk?????

Possibly yes. Remove the fittings while sanding and when sanding is completed vacuum out as much of the dust from around the hole for the fitting as you can.
 
Somehow, I don't think that's what he wanted to hear.....!

Better to hear it rather than see it. At least he thought of the danger and asked about it.
