Hi Guys,

Just finishing off taping & joint and have applied a first watered down coat of trade emulsion.

I've noticed at the jointing compound marks easily so have been looking for a tough paint for the final coats.

What about the Sandtex smooth? Can it be used internally? Can you get a smooth finish if applied with a roller?

All the paint companies do washable and scrubbable coatings so have a look at them. An oil based eggshell would be really tough but will stink for days.

Exterior aren't usually recommended for internal apps, i did read once that there are chemicals in exterior paints that are bad for the health, this may have changed and i did my bathroom in acrylic F&B exterior eggshell (because Brewers ordered it wrong) and its been fine. Egghsell finishes will be the toughest of the ordinary paints before you go for the wash/scrubbable gear.
