Hi all,

I have a Saniflo Pro system in my under stairs area servicing 1 WC and 1 hand basin.

It has been working fine until my wife flushed a baby wet wipe down the WC. It now seems to be caught in the macerator which makes a loud noise when operated.

Does anyone have any instructions on how to open one of these systems up to remove any such blockages?

Alternatively is there anything else that can be done? Many thanks.

Turn the power and water off.

Remove toilet.

Use pliers to unravel the wet wipe from the concoction of mashed up pooh.

In fact get your wife to do it so that she knows never to do it again.

Only the French could invent such an abomination.

Trust me, shitting in a bucket is infinitely more appealing.

I'm not sure if you said that sarcastically, but trust me, it's not far off what may well happen!

How do you open the Saniflo unit up? Are there clips/screws etc holding it together? Where are they located?

I second everything Dan has said about these. If you haven't already started be aware the non return valve on the outlet is on the unit, attempting to disconnect the outlet, in order to remove the unit, usually results in the contents of the outlet pipe making a unwelcome reappearance.....

Women should be banned from going anywhere near these things, and wipes should be banned altogether!!! I've seen frequently how those things can jam up the huge pumps used in the sewer network, a macerator has absolutely no chance....
