Hi guys

I live and work in the Scottish Borders and in 6 years being self employed, I have never estimated for a Scotch Roof.

Can anyone assist me with working out?

The area of Scotch Slates is 135 square meters?

Usually I can do an estimate on the software I designed in seconds, but I didn't allow for scotch as again, I have never estimated for one.

How would you work out how many man hours to install, as doing scotch is like a jigsaw puzzle?

What percentage of waste would be with Scotch for stripping and dressing out?

Cheers

You will lay more as you kick off from the eaves with the larger slates doing less M ² per day as you near the ridge.

You should probably average out approx 10 M ² per day with someone feeding you the slate.

Waste will depend on the condition of the slate! you will lose a lot of heads as you strip but they can be dressed and re-holed.
