Hi, this is a quick question from a relative novice.

I am getting a vinyl floor covering laid in my kitchen. The current floor is woodchip and has a couple of chunks taken out of it that need levelling. I've been told that I need to find a latex screed that can stick to wood.

Can anyone tell me:
1) where to find such a screed
2) if this is a manageable job for a DIY beginner

thanks a lot!

you need floor levelling compound with a latex additive.

'leveltex' is one such product.

Thanks for the reply, noseall. I can't find much info on Leveltex... if I understand correctly it's a liquid that you add to a regular self-levelling compound.

I have also discovered 2 self-levelling compounds that can be used on chipboard without adding a special latex liquid. They are called Cementone Cempolatex and Level-right FeatherEdge.

Can someone please explain whether I should go for one method over the other?

Thanks very much.
