Hi,

I've been browing the forum but cannot find an answer to my specific question as yet, so I thought i'd post this:

I have a 240v supply to my detached garage and this has two FCUs inside (one above the other). One of the FCUs appears to be wired to the other and this one supplies a double socket and a roof light. I'd like to add an external security light but am unsure where to add this.

Do I just add it to the FCU where the light and sockets are coming from? I know that I cannot take from the light or socket as they are on a spur already.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi, thanks for the reply. When you turn off switch 1 everything goes off (sockets and light). When you turn off switch 2 just the light goes off.

You are going to need another switched fused connection unit (SFCU) with a 3A fuse.

You will need a cable from the load terminals of the 1st SFCU to the supply/feed terminals of the new SFCU. From the load terminals of the new SFCU connect your new security light
