Security lights

I'm looking to put two lights onto the front of my garage. Ideally I'd like them to come on at night automatically but quite dim... With a sensor that makes them both go bright if someone triggers it.

I know I've seen this set up before but have no idea where to begin. Could anyone help?

The type of lights you are asking about are "Hi/Lo motion activated, dust till dawn".
