sensor for fridge freezer

hi.... the fridge part of my fridge freezer was icing up so I bought a new thermostat. I fitted it but the fridge is still icing up. is there any way I can test the sensor to see if it is working ok ? It is a Candy fridge freezer.
help please

have de-frosted freezer and cleaned all the cooling fins at the back,done the £5 pound note test on the door seal ( seal seems to be ok ) but the fridge is still icing up, anything else I could try ? :confused:
