My kitchen is quite dark so I am considering installing a skylight in my flat roof kitchen extension.
The extension is south facing and in the summer the sun is on the extension all day. I know that the skylight will give us lots more light but will it also make the kitchen a lot warmer during the summer?
I have also looked at sun tunnels but I have never seen one of these installed are they as good as the manufacturers say they are, do they "flood the room with light"?

My next door neighbour has a sunpipe and they are good but I don't know if it depends on which side of the roof and how long the pipe is.

Skylight window will give you open window for ventilation and also have a night vent which is useful for controlling condensation problem.
