I am currently re-furbing my bathroom and would like to install a shaver socket. Below is my plan. Please can you advise if it appears correct....
I also have a question regarding Supplementary bonding.

Due to access, it is far easier for me to tap off the main ring with a fused spur. Routing off the lighting circuit would be very difficult and require cutting up my plasterboard walls.

I intend to fit the face plate of the fused spur on the other side of the bathroom wall and then the shaver socket face plate on the inside. The socket will be above a basin, but in zone 3 or 'outside the zones' (more than 60cms from the bath edge). I then intend to link the earth from the spur to the supplementary equipotential bonding wiring I am also installing.

My question is do I need to link my light to the supplementary equipotential bonding as well? It seems a little unnecassary to me, the ceilings are 2.7m high and its on a pull cord switch. i.e you cannot touch any part of it to get a shock.

I have notified Building Control.

Thanks Andy

Following the question from Gary Mo re: RCD protection, I have read on other posts that people have had issues with this set-up (The RCD randomly trips). The posts do not however seem to give an answer as to why this would be.

It there one?

Thanks

Andy
