I have just got some new tools which I will be storing in my shed, and to keep myself assured, I want an alarm. After searching through the internet I have found these alarms that text/ring you if set off. I have found the alarms below and am wondering what you think.

Hi,

I haven't looked at the sites you mention, but shall do so later. Perhaps someone can advise you in the meantime. In the case of a 'Shed burglary' we are talking sometimes about a few minutes at the most before they have been in, out, and long gone. In which case with gsm, if you are not in the immediate vicinity, I doubt there's a lot that you could do about the 'raid'. I would suggest as a first course of action that you tighten up your physical security.

Hi,

My last post was a bit callous, so I'll try again.

First look for the weak spots in the shed, they are not always the door and windows. There may be some loose boarding at some point which could easily be ripped out. When battening an area of this description, use thru bolts rather than screws. There are a variety of Shed and Boat alarms as you have pointed out, but it would be to your advantage were you to use a low cost trade control panel, preferably mounted in the main building with cable runs to 'vibration' and 'dual technology' detectors at the shed itself. This is easily accomplished. I cannot put the method on open forum therefore you would need to send me a private message with your e.mail address for the details. You may then link a suitable sms messager, or dialler for that matter to the panel in the main property. If I could have some sort of detail regarding the distance of the shed from the main building, surroundings, and so on, I could probably help you with better detail.

Take Care.
