We have a cupboard in the bedroom thats been filled with junk. Redecorating next week and want to make this into a small built in dressing table. The width is 750mm so the idea is to build some sort of general size battern system (Rectangle frame and venneer to sit on top) and use 18mm veneered MDF for the table as it will be used by the missus for drying hair/make up etc etc.
Question is will the batterns be strong enough for the table to take a bit of weight or will it be better to incorporate a couple of legs either side.
I cant see much weight being applied as it wont be holding too much but just incase she leans on it for some reason.
Also the cut off from the Veneer will give me a width of 575mm that wont stretch the whole length so i was thinking of putting this at the rear of the table and to the centre as a second tier. Is their any decorative legs/supports to join to the table and place the shelf on top. The support legs will only be about 120mm
Thanks in advance
