Hi all,

I was looking for advice on a small newsagents thats getting extended. We require sockets flush with the floor (freezers in middle of shop) Would 50x50 battens on the slab, with 22mm flooring on top finished with tiles be ok? I would put the insulation below the slab. Any problems standing out i am missing? thanks

If sockets are the main concern, then I would get hold of the manufacturers literature to check what flooring is acceptable.

Personally I would not design a timber floor for high traffic areas, if a solid one was possible

Thanks Woody,

Would it be possible to have them 'embedded' in the floor slab? I know these sound like basic questions but i just dont know! ty ty

Normally you would lay the cable duct/conduit on top of the slab, fix the sockets and then lay the screed.
