Should an electrician be wiring gas boiler controls?

Do your customers know you're leaving them with an illegal installation?

The really funny thing here is there is currently a guy in the combustion chamber forum who can't manage to fault find on a simple s plan system, yet the plumbers recon they're the only people clever enough to wire heating systems

I thought you were a sneaky **** when you posted on DIA's thread in the CC some while back.

Why sneaky? I'm a gas safe registered electrician. Is not exactly rocket science to get registered.

And you try to score points here by taking the pi55 out of a bloke that asked for help in the CC. You should get get your ar$e kicked out of the CC for that you **** .

Illegal! Get a grip son. Lol a proper job you mean.
Yes, illegal if not done properly and notified as required. I guess you're too thick to know that.

Not that you seem to care:

I know war they want me to do. But am not a robot like you lol beut
I don't know what you call someone who deliberately incorporates criminal actions into his business practices, but disgusting scumbag cowboy would be a good place to start.

I'm not trying to score points I'm just astonished by your double standards!

A plumber comes on here trying slag off electricians saying only plumbers know how to wire heating systems yet the post in the combustion chamber shows this clearly isn't the case and another plumber says he doesn't care that he's carrying out illegal installations, but I'm the bad guy?

If an electrician said he'd carried out an illegal boiler installation I'm sure you wouldn't hesitate to have a go at him.

Oh dear me. Please tell me onlyfitidealboilers that you live in the south east and will only kill people who deserve to die.

Double Standards? THE CC is a CLOSED forum and you know what's posted on there is unseen yet you refer to it to try and prove a point. It was, in my eyes made worse because it was someone asking for help, you didn't offer him any just came on here and took the pi55. I cant recall a single occasion where someone has done that before.

PLumbers and electricians have been slagging each other off on-site, off-site forever, It's what we do.

The combustion chamber is a closed forum for people to discuss gas related issues.

I don't repeat anything written in there about gas as that is against the site rules.

Sparking regs don't have the same weight behind them as the more gas technical ones. I mean come on lads sparking is a labours job isn't it.

Illegal come off it! Breaking the law. Next thing the old bill will be on my door step for wiring a plug lol...

oh, how so? I thought building regs applied equally to everyone.

Its building regs, they are supported in law. How likely it is that you may get pulled up is a matter of opinion. I think a 5000 fine is the max penalty..

Free speech I can say way I think. Am only saying ways true. An not breaking the law fitting a socket for someone. Like for like. But you are just thinking about touching someone's gas.

I'm allowed to do my own DIY gas work without breaking any law.

You are not legally allowed to even DIY central heating controls unless you are a member of a competent persons scheme, or you notify and pay LABC to inspect your work.

So I'd say electrical work is MORE regulated than gas.

Oh I didn't know you had to re do your qualifications every 5 years.

Only on your own house are you allowed to work on gas if YOU ARE COMPETENT, and god help you if your not an you blow the roof off.
Jail for you.
And you still have to advise building control on gas appliances fitted.

Electrical work is not more regulated then has, I can assure you pal.

Well how come I'm allowed to DIY gas but not electrics then?

Oh and by the way in our industry we get assesed EVERY year, not every five years.
