I've got my shower and bath waste on the same pipe.
The pipe is currently 1.5" but I am upgrading this to 2".
The pipe runs from the shower, after 1 meter the bath waste joins it, another meter and there is a 90 degree bend and then it runs for 2.5 meters out of the wall and into the soil stack.
The only problem with this is that when emptying the bath, the vacuum empties the shower waste and there can be a smell in the shower room.
I'm thinking about putting an air admitance valve onto the pipe work somewhere but I haven't any experiencee using them.
Is this a good idea or is there a better solution without running double pipe work?
Thanks

Sounds like a job for a hepVO valve

[EDIT] Maybe I could have found a better video but at least it gets the message across.
