shower plumbing

Hi,

Recently moved into an old house and found a problem with the shower. It is either too holt or too cold. its impossible to get a warm balanace. On initial investigation I've found that, when facing the showerhead, the cold water feed is on the left and the hot on the right. Am I right on thinking this has been plumbed in with the water feeds the wrong way round?

it is the most common way hot left cold right
