I want to fit a shower pump. I know that it should stand at the base of the cylinder but due to space/location i have to place it above the cylinder. My limited knowledge tells me i should fit an essex flange but i do not feel confident enough to fit one (read a lot of horror stories). A friend of friend (who i am told is a plumber) advised that i could take the hot water supply from hot water f/e pipe providing it taken at least 600mm below the top of the cylinder. Will this provide a problem free hot supply?

Any advice/guidance would be appreciated.
