Can i ask this question??

A tank fed vented cylinder as a surrey flange installed at the top of the cylinder and i am supplying a shower via a pump, things arent working as they should.

What are the consequences of extending the copper of the surrey flange deeper into the cylinder???

I suspect these things may occur
1. The water being drawn off will be lower temp
2. The gravity supply in this case may not keep up with the pump so will also limit shower use.
3.??????????????? Is there any other consequence?

Hope people can give me some sensible advice.

What problems are you having with the pump? May not be to do with the flange.

in answer to your questions :-

1. It may be depending on how far down the pipe goes and how efficiently/quickly the cylinder heats the water
2. same answer as above
3. playing around with the design may affect the way in which the flange works and may affect what guarantee there is for the pump.
