Hi, I have a leak in my boiler and have been told I need to replace the sidewinder washers but seem unable to find where I can buy these. Is there a specific name I should be searching for.I have been told they are about 8-10mm thick and tend to be a standard size. Many thanks for your help.

Hi i think by sidewinder he means its the hot water cyld it has at some time had an I M I sidewinder coil fitted to a direct cyld so as to make it into an indirect.
The washers are fibre and there are two to each connection i fitted dozens in the 80s to save altering all the pipework in the airing cupboard
i do not think they are made anymore because there are so many indirects about
I have repaired one or 2 and i had to make the washers just for the outside part its a very fiddly job and very time consuming and sometimes not successful the first time
it may be better to replace the cyld

Cheers Mick,I think your right my mate said its hard to find them nowadays and that it can be a bit of a pain, think I will have to replace it pity though it just looks like a heat proof rubber washer is all it needs.
