Hi I am building a small sleeper retaining wall/flower bed, 2 sleepers high. I have the posts in place in ground but trying to decide whether to screw the sleeper from the front into the posts, or from behind so the screw heads are hidden. It’s timber lock screws.

From the front is probably stronger as it’s pushing back against and force, but from behind maybe looks better.

Is there a correct method?

You would surely see small holes if not the head to the bolt bit?

It won't notice, the eye will be drawn to the pretty flowers.
