Aloha,

Last week I slipped while going down the stairs in my house. The stairs are carpeted and it looks in good condition but the central part of it (carpet) is smooth and slippery.

What can I do?

I don't want to change the carpet cos it still looks ok.

Help.

You are limiting yourself.

If it is greasy, you could hire a hot carpet cleaner, though stairs are difficult to do.

If it is made of a slippery synthetic material you will either have to replace it, or get used to falling downstairs

If it is worn out and has been laid with a little spare material, it is possible to move the carpet half a step upstairs. i don't think I can describe how to do that on here. You will find it any any old housekeeping book or DIY carpet-laying book.
