We have a smeg mixer tap in the kitchen. Before this was fitted the hot flow was fine but now it is about half what it was before. I read in an eaelier post that some taps are high pressure and that there is a restrictor that can be removed. Where are these and what do they look like/ how are they removed?

Don't know this particular make of taps but they sound foreign and the problem with foreign taps is that they are often designed for working on high pressure systems.

The restrictions on these taps take various forms but often smaller water ways internal to the tap and the flexiable hoses have smaller bores than we normally use.
