Over the last few days I have noticed that when my neighbour uses their washing machine I get a little of their water in my kitchen sink. It makes a gargling noise and fills my sink with some soapy water. It's
smells of rotten eggs.

I am on the 1st floor of a 4 story flat. Why is this happening. Is it a problem in my flat? Thanks.

Where is the neighbours flat in relation to yours? Its likely a partial blockage in pipework somewhere, water cannot get away quick enough and is backing up into your sink.

There is 3 on each floor. Not sure what neighbour is using theie W.M. Do you think it is a problem with the stair drainage or my flat. It is hard to tell how it works as the building is over 100 years old.
