I've discovered exactly that in our new house.
There are 3 5amp round pin sockets in the room and 4 13a sockets.
The cleaner complained that one of the 13a sockets didn't work so i took the front plate off and found it was supplied by a 1.5mm spur. Sure enough it started working when the lights were turned on.
Previous owners had obviously used a 13a socket instead of a 5amp socket.
Just as well the cleaner comes round in the day when the lights are off or she would have merrily been running a hoover off the lighting circuit!
