I'm just about to fit a softwood door lining kit (bought from Wickes). I'll use one of those moulded white finished panel doors so presumably loose stops arn't needed?

My question; the rebated section of this door kit is 20mm thick. Once I've rebated the hinge in, that'll leave me about 18mm for the hinge screws. The frame will be fixed to thermalite blocks.

18mm softwood for the hinge screws doesn't seem alot to me!

Am I right??
