Soil Stack Vent Question.

Hi

Can the vent for my external soil stack branch off the stack before the last connection into it?

I'm running a soil pipe from the loft space out of the sofit and was hoping to connect straight into the top of the stack and branch the existing vent off further down.

Hope this makes sense.
