I have just built an observatory for my telescope and would like electricity supplied to it.

I have a 50m reel which i could use from the garage but its a bit of a pain having to go to the garage to turn on the power.

What i was thinking was having the reel plugged into a socket in the kitchen and extended out to the observatory around the perimeter of the garden. It would only be around 15m.

How would the cable deal with the cold and rain though? Would it survive cold winters?

It would not be permanently left turned on.

Any advice would be great.

Thanks.
