OK i have worked on the railway in signalling as Signalling Team Leader for 8 years (internal qualified spark sort of) and i am looking to becoming a fully qualified spark. Now the advice i am seeking is does these fast track courses count for anything or do companies prefer the collage route.
Also once i finished these courses does that mean i am fully qualified or do i need to prove experience within the industry before hand or is there something else involved.
thanks in advance :)

I wouldn't recommend quick fix courses, lots of infomation to be taken in, in short space of time.
The most common route taken is either day release (one day a week) or part-time (2 evenings a week)
This can be done by taking the 2330 level 2 and level 3 course (G&G)

this then will lead to progression to BS7671:2008 qualification (17th Edition) 2382 qualication.
Then onto inspection and testing 2391 or 2392.

To be able to self certificate your work you will also need to become a member of a scheme provider.

This can all take between 2 to 4 years depending on the route you take.
There has been lots of post regarding this of recent and maybe worth searching through old posts.
