spinning but sparking at motor

I have an old philips model no AND052 /1PH TYPE 8516 052 1507 1.
WHEN I PUSH THE DRUM ON IT COMES. I CAN SEE SPARKS COMING AROUND THE MOTOR. LOOKED AT THE BRUSHES BUT CANT SEEN TO GET THEM OUT.

perhaps you are not meant to.

when i used to work for a certain white goods company, there was one motor inparticular that if its brushes ever did wear out (very very rare) you had to change the whole motor :cry: perhaps yours is the same.

you could try going to a w/m spares place ask for brushes and see if they supply them (obviously mention make model of m/c and motor)

What do you mean by that exactly.

btw, All motor brushes spark to some degree. Is there any other problem with the machine?

No, sounds very much like the brushes. They normally clip in so it's a question of finding which bit to press to release them. Mind you I suppose this post is now a bit out of date.

The sparking is caused by intermittent contact of the brush with the armature.
