SpiroTrap how to clean.

I have Spiro Trap fitted and not cleaned for a about 2 years can't remember what to do , is it easy to empty? From what i remember you turn the boiler off, unscrew the safety cap and then use the cap to open the value and empty in to bucked for about 5 seconds.

if i do empty it do i have top up boiler with inhibitor again?

You only need to empty the volume of the unit, about 300cc.

So a litre would be more than enough and will not need the inhibitor to be topped up.

IME the dirt comes out in the first cupful, then as soon as the water runs clean, stop.

so they way I remembered is the correct way of draining it ? just want to make sure before i do it.

yes, you use the cap as it has a sort of spanner socket in the end.

You could probably make or buy a suitable tool if it got lost.

Came out very black with sludge for about 2-3 seconds after that just brownish water.
