Split face tiles: Brick pattern or not

Hi all,

I am fitting some split face tiles, they are rectangular (10 x 40cm), not the 'Z type' interlocking type.

Question is, is it best to fit brick patter (staggered), so when starting a new row, the edge is staggered by half a tile. Or, do I use the off-cut from the row below as the first tile on the next row then just follow on from there?
