I've just replaced my uvpc front door handle as it was "wobbly". The new handle came with 2 spindles, one solid and one split. I took the easy way out and fitted the solid spindle, only to discover a few weeks later that the door could be opened from the outside!!

Now having cut the split spindle to size (I think). The outside handle works fine, but the inside handle won't work at all, however the solid spindle operates both handles fine.

Has anyone any ideas to what i've done wrong??

when you say split spindle do you mean something like this ______ ______
with a little grub/allen screw between the 2?
if so then i would say the screw has come loose.hence why the inside handle isnt working correctley.

Thanks gregers but the spindle and handle are new. A split spindle has a hole in one half and a "lug/pin" which fits in the other half, so that both in and out door handles can operate independently.

I don't think there is a grub/allen key
