HELLLO! I have a few questions regarding this boiler.

I have no gas on the outlet test nipple on the gas valve, everything seems to be working but no gas to pilot. I have fully serviced it.
I tested for voltage at solenoid which read 0V. Do I replace gas valve or pcb? Any help welcome.

Are you a RGI? you ask some very odd questions and if you are its a little worrying.

Google Ideal would be a good start.

I was just trying to say you need initiative to cut it in this game - don't rely on manufacturers - there's very few technical desks that I'd trust these days. For a start you should have a full list of all the manufacturers phone numbers and a laptop with all the manuals.

You will find most manufacturers technical advice lines are a waste of time. Indeed some are now being staffed with operators with no previous knowledge of the heating industry or boilers. You will spend hours on the phone, are likely to get through to someone with very limited knowledge that will say anything to get the call dealt with quickly. Take what they say with an open mind. They can cost you dearly. You have been warned. :)

oh right... sorry i must of taken you the wrong way... please, share with us your pearls of wisdom on this matter and help me resolve this situation... which is why you visit these sites, .. to er... get help.

... tel me... how do you diagnose this fault to be with the pcb or the gas valve pehaps?

could you please shed light on how you can prove a fault with either of these? :p

I'm not familiar with this particular boiler, but if you are sure there is no voltage at the solenoid/gas valve I would be looking for a fault previous to this, eg the pcb or connecting wiring. If there was voltage at the solenoid then this would point to the solenoid/gas valve at fault.

I think without realising it you have answered your own question ;)

When starting off on the breakdown/fault scenarios you must be prepared to learn from your own mis-diagnosis even ifit costs you money at some point. Nobody knows it all  You will be constantly learning.

Use of multimeter will establish where there is no voltage coming from or going to. :)

Its amazing what you can find on the internet if you spend 15 seconds bonking!

:)

If there is no voltage then does it matter if nothing is coming or going?
